A number of years ago I decided to compile a timeline showing the start dates of all the different Sling Libraries in the UK. If you click on the timeline you can zoom in and view more clearly or you can view/zoom in on the image here.
Some of these may no longer be running, but the timeline gives a great, visual representation of just how rapid the growth in Sling Libraries has been. It’s also interesting to note how this has then slowed down. There are a number of reasons that may have caused this:
1) The more mainstream carriers become, and the more knowledge there is about what’s available, buyers may feel they have sufficient information to go and buy without needing to try or receive specific advice.
2) The number of Sling Libraries has plateaued at a natural equilibrium.
3) Existing libraries have grown and expanded, rather than lots more smaller ones starting.
4) A whole number of other factors that may contribute!
